Canadian Oilfield Riders 2021

COVID 19 AND THE CANADIAN OILFIELD RIDERS

Good Day Fellow Riders:

I am sure this will come as no surprise to most of you, but as we continue to watch the Covid 19 situation, and the associated necessary actions, we unfortunately have no choice but to advise that, for the first time since the inception of this event, we must officially cancel this year’s ride.

We have a number of our corporate sponsors who have generously agreed to make donations this year, even without the function – and we would like to reach out to you, our ridership, to do so as well. There is a donation button below – we would encourage you to make whatever donation you are able.

We would like to stress to all, that the work of the Children’s Wish must continue to go on, and cannot do so without the generous financial support they receive from organizations such as ourselves. The Canadian Oilfield Riders are the longest ongoing supporting sponsor, and while we obviously will not be able to make the size of donation to them that we have in past years, we would still like to be able to support them in any way we can.

Thank you all for your understanding and consideration.
Tim MacTavish

Please note our poster with next year’s date – we look forward to seeing you all then.

Our day will commence with registration at 8:00 am at Chestermere Lifepath Wellness – including a full hot breakfast on site. We are looking forward to a great start – our breakfast festivities will include some new cooking team members, sponsor acknowledgements, a media presence and more.

We will then depart for a day of great riding, our final destination being the campsite at Wayne, Alberta (just past the historic “Rosedeer Hotel” and “Last Chance Saloon”). The route will take us through the spectacular Red Deer River Valley badlands with voyage across on the Bleriot ferry and hot dog BBQ on the shores of the Red Deer River.

At Wayne, we are setting up a full afternoon of onsite activities including a “show & shine”, vendor displays, all day live music, motorcycle rodeo events and games, auctions, a steak BBQ, and great fellowship.

There is lots of room for overnight camping in this beautiful “badlands” setting. For those who wish to let their bikes have a “sleepover” while they spend the night in a hotel in Drumheller, free two- way shuttle service will again be in place – to take you to your hotel at the end of the night, and pick you up and bring you back to Wayne in the morning.
